01/13-- Ed. note:  We were coming home from a ride over into Rancho Santa Margarita and had some extra daylight, so we decided to stop at the airport on the way home. Ron Hull's hangar was open, but we didn't see him on the first pass. Anyway, he was in the cockpit of his RV-7A, updating the firmware on his Dynon EFIS and EMS. It's been about a year since he completed the plane, and he expressed total satisfaction with the way it turned out. Constant speed prop, 8.5:1 carbureted engine, no vacuum pump because of the electronics, wing-leveler slaved to the Garmin 296, and an angle-of-attack indicator. Stick-mounted trim and radio controls, external flap position indicator, oxygen tank mount and gunsight (just kidding there). Nice paint graphics and interior, he put Special Treat  on the cowling, after his granddaughter, sort of.                                                                                                                                       The picture above is from last summer, after paint. We'll see if we can get a couple of the cockpit interior as finished.... See the RV-8-in-a-crate behind the left wingtip. Since then, he's done some serious riveting. He's also taken delivery of wings, tail and canopy & wind-screen.
