-These folks all help to 'put on the show'-

It takes just as many volunteers on the ground as in the air to make a Young Eagles rally run well. First, the kids who might wish to fly are located and registered. Some volunteer to come to the Airpark early to set up. There are people ready to receive the kids and parents as they arrive on the Airpark, others who display and answer questions about their aircraft. Someone has to run Ground School, while others print and deliver the Young Eagles Certificates. There are volunteers organizing aircraft on the ground, and then there are a couple photographers making sure every Young Eagle has their picture taken with their pilot. And, after all the kids have left with their parents, there is the teardown and 'maintenance' of the facilities and volunteers. |

Some of the groundcrew didn't get their pictures taken. Still, their presence was felt. A lot of kids got their first ride in an airplane because of them. |
